31. Witch Trials: Giles Corey

Within the scope of the Salem Witch Trials, 19 innocent people were hanged and 1 was tortured to death – pressed over the course of two days. Giles Corey, an 81-year-old yeoman farmer known for his grumpy disposition was that one outlier. Join Salem tour guides Jeffrey & Sarah as they talk about Corey's tenuous relationship with his neighbors, with the church, and why he was so critical of what was happening here in 1692.

My mistake; I meant to say Cotton is Increase’s wife’s family name.

Just to comment on Cotton Mather’s name, Cotton is the name of his wife’s family. The wife family name was often used as a middle name of a child back in the day.
